INCHON ERRATA AND COMBAT OPTION

by Jim Werbaneth

ERRATA
MAP
(Clarification):
Sogang (hex 3006) is not part of Seoul.

COUNTERS
(Correction):
The US Army 92/5 Artillery unit is a battalion, not a battery.

RULES
(Correction) 11.5:
The +1 die roll modifier is for every 5 support points over 10, not eleven. Thus the +1 modifier comes in at 15 support points instead of 16, and +2 at 20, not 21.

(Clarification) 11.6: A "shock attack" requires a minimum of 10 artillery/air/naval points, even if no regular ground units make a ground attack.

OPTIONAL RULE-----PROFICIENCY AND CASUALTIES
This modifies rule 10.23:

1. If a player's units suffer any loss in combat, whether mandatory (* result) or elective, the first step loss must come from the unit whose proficiency rating was used to affect the battle, as per rule 10.23. If two or more units share the same rating, then the owning player decides which one will take the loss. All other casualties and retreats are implemented normally, and of course "Elim" results still destroy everything.

2. A player need not apply the proficiency of the highest-rated unit or units to the combat. He may choose to use the rating of a lower-rated one instead. This could adversely modify the die result, but following the rule above, the higher-rated unit would be shielded from taking the first step loss.

3. Unless a player states otherwise, he applies the highest proficiency rating to a combat. To invoke this option, he must explicitly state that a lower-rated unit will be used. The attack does this first, then the defender.
